We feel compelled that it is time to take the “Word” to the streets through a vehicle that rivets the hearts and captures the imaginations of our youth. We applaud conventional and traditional methods of ministry. Though traditional methods are well meaning and foundationally sound, different times compel us to take God out of the boxed traditional mindset and deliver HIM to a generation that is searching for new experiences that simply cannot be found in a conventional church service.
Holy Hip Hop artists have reached a spiritual and cultural zenith. The message is relevant and anointed. This message needs to be heard. Holy Hip Hop is no longer a weak whimpering sound but a trumpet that refuses to recede into the dark nights of isolation. Holy Hip Hop commands the attention of the church as it flows into the streets of the hurting masses.
Our mantra is ,if God could use a donkey to speak to Balaam (Numbers 22:28) in the bible, then He can strategically use things the world glorifies to win the lost and give Him glory.
Our first series of free clinics and concerts will be held in January 2005, the Lord willing. We are asking ministries and businesses in the Atlanta metro area to sow into this vision with gifts and donations as the lord lays upon their hearts. Our strategy is to run television commercials on TBS, ESPN, BET and TV57 with a major promo CD and T-shirt. Additionally ,we will distribute a flyer that will target an open audience.
In conclusion, HoodFest™ is aggressively pursuing the Great Commission. We desire to do the will of the Lord and to fulfill the vision that He has laid on our hearts… that is to influence, empower and equip the youth through our gifting—Music and Basketball.
